What I am think is that I can just copy the directory on the new system and still access the old app with all the data. I no longer have FileMaker 6 installed, but if youre not finding an obvious preference for the setting, I would guess that its reading the default. I saved the directory that holds both the app and the data to an external drive, then connected that usb to a different computer and actually got the program to run and show all the data, but when I exited I got an error. Download either a Macintosh (.sit) or a Windows version (.zip) of the package.

So I have a couple of questions does anyone know if the data can be exported into Excel and then imported into a new database application. For versions of Filemaker Pro 6 and earlier: FileMaker files are the equivalent. The company that created the Get Physical folded in 2011 (actual sold to Apple). My problem is the one program that he uses is Get Physical that is built around Filemaker Pro 6 and he can't find the software to reinstall in a new system. I have been able to keep the system running but probably not for much longer. I have a client that has a PC that was new when Vista was released. According to this article in the Filemaker support database, you should be able to recover your data by converting the v6 database with FileMaker Pro 11.
